Lt. Hubert John Game (1890-1917)

Game was born in Middlesex on 13  December 1890, the son of George Beale Game and Clara Game (née Vincent). Game was firstly educated at Aldro School, Eastbourne and then from 1904 to 1907 at Malvern College. By 1906 his parents had moved out of London and settled in Broadway at Barn House on the High Street.

On 14 September 1914, Game received a commission to the Royal Field Artillery and was posted to the Western Front in November 1914. He was wounded in the Second Battle of Ypres and unable to return to the RFA, was transferred to the RFC  in March 1917. He was serving with 53 (Training) Squadron when he was killed, aged 26, in a flying accident due to wing failure pulling out of a dive in the Narborough area on 8 June 1917 in BE2e A2794.

Game is buried in the churchyard at All Saints’ Church, Narborough, Norfolk.
