A fund to replace the furniture which Mr. Geoffrey Layton, store manager of Messrs. Titchmarsh and Hunt, Ltd., lost in the fire at his firm’s premises last week, was opened on Saturday by Mr. F.A. Folkes, of High-street, Broadway.
Practically all Mr. Layton’s furniture was destroyed, and it is understood that it was uninsured. Mr. Folkes hopes that the fund will reach £40, and he asks all donations should be sent to him at High-street, Broadway.
Up to noon on Thursday, the fund stood at at total of £8 15s 7d.
